How to read the New Delhi Ireland visa decisions list

Understand the NDVO Ireland visa decisions spreadsheet, its dates, Approved and Refused results, and what a missing application number can tell you.

The quick answer

The New Delhi Embassy publishes visa outcomes in an .ods spreadsheet linked from its processing-times-and-decisions page. Find your complete application number and read the Decision cell on the same row. Use the current official file to confirm your result.

Open the latest official file

Follow the Embassy’s processing-times-and-decisions page and locate the Visa decisions section. Open the dated spreadsheet link there. Bookmark that source page so that you can find its current file on your next visit.

The .ods extension means OpenDocument Spreadsheet. If your browser downloads it instead of displaying it, open the download in a spreadsheet application that supports .ods. A phone may need a compatible spreadsheet viewer.

Search the complete number, then read across

Use Find in the spreadsheet viewer, usually Ctrl+F on Windows or Command+F on a Mac. On a phone, look for Find or Search in the viewer’s menu. Enter the full application number from your AVATS summary.

Verify all eight digits in the matching row before reading its decision. Do not use the result above or below it, or treat the highest number in the file as an estimate of when your application will be decided.

Understand what the result says

Approved and Refused are the outcome labels published in the decision list. A matching row tells you what that source reports for the application. Follow the official correspondence for instructions about your own case.

If your number is absent, the file does not give an outcome for that number. Absence alone cannot tell you why it is missing or confirm an internal processing stage. Check that you are using the right office and the correct number.

Read the dates carefully

The Embassy describes the file as a cumulative list of decisions for the year, through the date stated on the link. It is not just a batch of applications decided on the day you download it.

A list’s coverage date, the time it was published, and the time VisaRelay recorded it are different. The homepage shows both the Embassy list date and when VisaRelay added that file. This article’s review date only describes when its guidance was checked.

A calendar change alone does not establish that a new list exists. Check the source link and its date rather than assuming every visit contains a new decision.

How VisaRelay uses the published data

VisaRelay monitors the New Delhi source and records published decisions so an applicant can search one number without scanning a spreadsheet. It checks for source updates every few minutes. It has no access to the Embassy’s internal case system.

Our stored history can include decisions from earlier files. The Embassy can change a result or remove a previously listed row, so an older record is not a substitute for checking its current source. If the sources disagree, follow the official Embassy information and contact VisaRelay about the discrepancy.

Publication data does not include the information needed to predict your personal processing time. We do not turn nearby application numbers or historical approval counts into a promise about your decision.

After finding a decision

Use the instructions sent with your official outcome for the next step. A row in the published list does not establish that a passport has been dispatched or delivered. If you are waiting for documents, check the relevant return service separately.

Sources and scope

This guide explains how to read published information. VisaRelay is independent of the Embassy, Irish Immigration Service and VFS Global. Official instructions and your decision correspondence take precedence. Source guidance was checked on the review date above.
